Thought for the day ....

I know this is a stitching blog, but I needed to divert my attention for a moment.
When I came home from work the other day my children brought this little sweetheart to my attention
This is Molly.
She was starving, dirty, covered in fleas, begging for attention & nearly dead ......
You can feel nothing but bone when holding her

She is sweet, cuddly, loveable & potty trained !
Who in the world would abandon her?
We shaved her hair to get rid of matted fur & fleas, gave her a wonderful bath (with flea shampoo)
fed her & cuddled her to sleep .....
Now she is sitting up & acting like she feels better.
 My point here is this:

Be responsible with your pets !!!!!

I really don't know how people can be ;like this to animals. She looks a real cutie pie, will you be keeping her?

Amen, sister. Some people feel animals are throw away things. That's why animal shelters are full all of the time.

Oh she is just so sweet!

I don't know how anyone could let a dog get into that state!

Ahhhh! You're right. Who could leave such a cut-t-pie. She is lucky to have been found by you.

I have rehomed a stray this year as well..found her on the road. I cannot believe people would just dump an animal like that when we have rescue centres. Unfortunately that is just the way it is in Southern Ireland..all of my friends have strays they found on the bogs etc. For a christian country we seem to forget Adam and Eve were meant to care for the animals!

Awww, poor little baby!! I hate the way people treat animals. It is really horrible here--I just don't know what people think when they do stuff like that. Bless you for taking her in!

A jewel will be added to your crown! I have multiple cats that have been thrown away by their 'owners' and each one is a very loving addition. They give back more love than imaginable!

Most strays that have been on their own long enough to be starving won't let people near them. I'll bet she was just neglected and dumped recently. Sure is cute! Whether you keep her or not, she was still rescued and your kids are heroes for doing so.

Oh my goodness what a cutie! Sounds like Molly found some responsible people at last - so good to hear that you have pampered her already. She needed a day at the Spa for sure! LOL

Seriously, thanks for taking care of other peoples' messes! I do also drop my jaw regularly about how some just don't seem to respect anything in life.

She is adorable! She landed on your doorstep for a reason :) Looks like she was hanging by a thread and now she is loved again.

I really can't look at her eyes...I had this kind of dogs for several years (4 in about 20 years) and they were as my childs.

Some people should not have pets or children!

What a cutie-pie! She is so lucky to have been found by your family! She probably wouldn't have lasted much longer on the street.

We recently adopted a black lab-hound from the humane society, and we named her Molly. She's housebroken, hardly ever barks, knows basic obedience and has the sweetest temperament. Why didn't her former owners move heaven and earth trying to find her?

I have quit trying to figure out why people treat animals this way - I just know they do. I'm thankful for people like you, who step up and help them. She looks like a sweetie!

So glad you took her in~ what a cutie pie! You'll have to show pics of her when her fur grows out and she's fattened up a bit ~ maybe a before/after pic.

What a cutie she is. I think she won the lottery to be found by your kids.
We have a little rescue dog here too and ours got severely mentally damaged. It's beyond me why some people are taking a pet.
I hope life will be good from now on for your little darling dog. :)

Patty: I love reading about all things on blog sites, it is fun to see what people are up to, it saddens me when someone will not take care of their animals, I cannot understand the concept of getting a dog and leaving it out in a dog house all alone they are suppose to be friends and companions, giving them much love, our last dog was a rescue dog from a terrible person who left her and her mother in a box no bigger then 3x4 foot enclosure, (we had Peanut for 13 years)
I miss her.
So reading about other peoples animals makes me so happy.

Your kids are wonderful to bring her home. When will people learn that animals are not throw away things. Hope you can keep her and she will get the loving family she deserves.
